My favorite holiday of the year is Christmas. The holiday´s name is FESTIVAL DEL RETORNO, is celebrate in August 28 San Agustin´s Day.
The holiday Opening is with Eucharistic celebration and the night the people go to the dowtown for enjoy and drink all the night, this holiday last four days.

i´m going to talk about holy week.
holy week is an espiritual time dedicated to prie,to make sacrifices and to make big changes.
in this week many people prepare tpipycal delicious candies and also pepole used to eat al lot of sea food because holy thursday and friday we can eat meat.
begining on ash wednesday, every friday people can´t eat meat until easter.
in this time people make a lot of procesions that represent the way to calbario.and generally visit the churchs centre and make fat.

my favorite holiday is christmas..
Christmas is the more important holiday to me, because this it a time full of love and union with my family and my friends.
Christmas we celebrate jesus birth.
the custom is to have a big reunion with the family on 24 and wait until 12 to have dinner, althougt for example in my house sometimes dinner is before 1.
The dinner in christmas by tradicional almost always are: turkey and pernil.
The custom in christmas is give gifts, the children in this time always make letters to santa clause for ask gifts that finally receive on december 25.
The tradicional colors are red, green, white, blue and gold.

I going to speak about the Barranquilla's Carnival.
This holyday is celebrated on the weekend before that the ash wednesday, but the people start to celebrate it from january, and they call it the pre-carnivals.
The carnivals start whit the "batalla de flores", follow whit the "gran parada", and it finishes whit the "Joselito's death".
This is a traditional and cultural carnival of the city, but in many citys of Colombia too is celebrated.
I never have been in this carnival, but my mother was here last year. She said me that the more impresionant is the variety of costumes and "comparsas". Also it's so organized.
This is a colorful carnival end the people enjoy every day from the last day.
I would like be in the Barranquilla's carnival.
The holiday i chose was Oktoberfest, this holiday is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany during late September and early October.
The festival is held on an area named the Theresienwiese (field, or meadow, of Therese), often called d’ Wiesn for short.
Beer plays a central role in the fair, with every festival beginning with a keg of beer tapped by the Mayor of Munich who declares O'zapft is! (Bavarian for "It’s tapped!"). A special Oktoberfest beer is brewed for the occasion, which is slightly darker and stronger, in both taste and alcohol. It is served in a one-liter-tankard called Maß.
Visitors also consume large quantities of food, most of it traditional hearty fare such as sausage, hendl (chicken), käsespätzle (cheese noodles), and sauerkraut, along with such Bavarian delicacies as roast ox tails.
The one thing that most captures my attention about this festival it's the quantity of beer that people consume during this sixteen days of party, i guess that's the reason why i wanted to learn more about this holiday

Colombia is a country full of festivals and fairs, Medellin is one of the most important city in this special country,in that fantastic city we find "the festival of flowers".
this festival is the most important event in Medellin.
The first Festival of the Flowers took place on May 1, 1957.
The festival initially took place during the month of May but was changed to August in 1958 to celebrate the Independence of Antioquia. Since then other events have been added like the International Pageant of the Flowers, the horse parade, Guiness Records in 1996 and 1999, classic automobiles parade, Orchids exposition, among others
The festival lasted for 5 days with an exposition of flowers.
The silleteros parade take an important position in this fantastic fair, the "Silleteros" make this wonderfull shairs-flowers.

Is the most important cultural event in Cali, Colombia. it is a celebration of the regional cultural identity, famous for the salsa marathon, horse riding paredes and dance parties.
the fair is know as the "sugar cane" and "salsa fair". people enjoy many activities like an opening cabalgata,tabern, salsa concerts, bullfights, paredes, athletic activities and competitions and cultural exhibitions.

The party for children, but everyone celebrates it, young, adults and children. Tradition is that all children go out to the streets and ask for candies, wearing their costumes. With time this party's been missing, because of the rumors of satanic cults that scare parents away and don't let their children have fun with their costumes. The way I celebrate this party is with my friends, wearing our costumes and going to a disco where there's a costume contest.
